3/4/2023 0 Comments P30 vs p229![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The ability for H&K barrels to clear a squib round through firing through, and then maintaining functional ability with accuracy that is still better than many factory new firearms is incredible. And with that said, the P30 is designed with longevity in mind and can go over 100,000 rounds with only a single major service interval in which only a few springs are replaced. Given a lot of target ammo is 115, its at least a consideration and should be more of a consideration if you are looking for a variant with the heavier springs (I would personally advise calling H&K about this if you shoot a lot of 115). Over time weaker 115 will work better but the gun is really not well-suited to it (on the contrary, USPs do better with weak 115). The P30, especially with a heavier hammer spring, is not a great shooter for some standard 115gr which is on the weaker side.H&K will say that themselves. ![]() Mainly, trigger variation is personal preference but owners should realize the primary purpose of the trigger enhancements for upgrade options are predominantly for the purpose of defensive shooting rather than target plinking (H&K Match is great for that too, but still retains the primary purpose of defensive shooting). My USPs are generally stored in this fashion as I like the 1911 style and it's how I personally train. The DAK and LEM / SRT and Match offer some very similar features to make those options most comparable to each other.further, the standard trigger variants have the same SA/DA fashion except H&Ks have the ability for a cocked-and-locked 1911-style carry/storage due to the feature of a safety. Sig's DAK and SRT and H&K's LEM and Match Trigger are all well-suited to defensive shooters with the goal of reducing reset, making pulls more consistent, and speeding followup. You have some things to think about tho.Įach model has a lot of different options in terms of trigger configuration. The two pistols you mentioned are IMHO two of the finest or the finest defensive platforms made. I own a lot of H&Ks and either own or have owned a USP in every caliber offered. The issues you mentioned are easy to explain…$20 says she was shooting a weaker 115gr ammo which P30s with heavier springs, especially heavier hammer springs, do not like…especially things like Blazer which, while they will not harm the firearm, they do not cycle as well as other ammo and limp wristing makes them much more prone to stovepipe jams than other weights. ![]()
